Durham County Under 18’s
The Durham County U18s will start their season campaign in October and November 2017 playing three fixtures.
The side headed into the 2016/2017 season undefeated and retained that title as well as the Watt/Davy Throphy against Northumberland.
Before team selection this year, players from clubs and schools across the county will attend the trials at Darlington Mowden Park RFC on Monday, Sepetmber, 25, registration at 7.30pm in the Stadium bar and outside for 8pm.
After the assessment process is complete, a 33 man squad will be invited back to train for the upcoming fixtures.
The U18s have tough boots to fill as they head for their hatrick of unbeaten seasons this year.

Durham V Northumberland at DMP for Northern Division Festvial: 52 – 25 victory
Durham welcomed guests, Northumberland for their first fixture of the 2017/18 campaign for the Northern Division festival at DMP.
Team Manager, Phil Lax said: “There was lots of really impresisve performances by the Durham boys, but our collective team spirit was what stood out for us and allowed us to show our true talent.”
Joining them at the home of Tyrells Premier 15 Ladies team, Sharks, were players from Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
The day saw a great day of rugby from all counties in front of North of England selectors
The Durham County U18’s started their campaign for the 2016/2017 season in October 2016 and will play three games through to November to defend their undefeated title!
Before the team selection process, the U18s completed two training sessions where nominated players are invited along to demonstrate their skills and eligibility to be picked for the final 33 man squad.
After the assessment process the U18s was thinned out to pick a representative team! The competition continues at training as players are in contest for places in the match day squad.

Durham County training will continue on Friday October, 28 at East Durham College, Peterlee from 6pm -7pm. All 33 players will train in preparation for squad selection for Sunday’s game against Cumbria at Lymm on Sunday October, 30.

Congratulations to Durham U18 Men’s team as they retained the Watt/Davy trophy after their hard fought victory with Northumberland concluding three victories this season.
County U18s vs Lancashire U18s: October, 23 2016
Durham County U18s had to overhaul a significant deficit to secure a win in their opening game of the 2016-17 campaign.
Despite scoring first, Durham trailed 33-10 at the break. However, confidence in the Durham camp remained positive and rightly so as they dominated the second half with the coaches game plan ending in a marginal but earned 41-40 win over their Lancashire counterparts.
County U18s vs Cumbria U18s: October, 30 2016
Durham County U18s led with a clean sheet until the half time whistle and went on to win 47-5 in a confidence filled performance away to Cumbria at Lymm.
The opponents were only able to make one bounce back unconverted try to start the second half before the Durham boys were back at it again.
County U18s vs Northumberland U18s: November, 6 2016
Durham secured their third and final win of the season against Northumberland U18s. This saw they see in a second season undefeated and secure the Watt/ Davy Trophy after a hard fought fight.
Following three great performances, the Durham U18s await the news of who will be selected to attend the North of England assessment day.
