Durham County U17M secure first victory of season over rivals Northumberland

Durham County U17M secure a 24-12 victory over Northumberland in their opening game of the 2018 campaign at Percy Park RFC.

After a sluggish start, that saw the visitors fall behind to an early converted try, Durham took control in very difficult conditions to score twice before half time through Joe Berry and Luke Pearson with Callum Piert slotting a conversation to lead 12- 7 at the break.

In the second half, tries came from Matthew Ward and Luke Cooper with two points from the boot of, Callum Robinson.

Despite a confident retaliation by the visitors, the hosts did not go without score in the second half with a solo try resulting in a comprehensive win for Durham County U17s.

The next game for the U17M will be Sunday, Feb 25 at Ryton RFC as they host Cumbria.
