Durham County RFU is a constituent body of the English Rugby Football Union and is located in the North East of England. It is located in the boundaries of the old Durham County Borders which are basically the river Tyne to the north, the river Tees to the south, the Pennines to the west and the north sea to the east

Although the first recorded mention of Durham County playing was made in 1873, the Durham County Rugby Football Union was officially formed on the 10th October 1876 at a meeting at Walton’s Hotel in Sunderland by the following clubs
